ABOUT

Lived Experience Matters specialises in harnessing the power of lived experience to drive meaningful change within health and social care sectors. We offer bespoke training, consultancy, coaching and strategic advice aimed at embedding lived experience into organisational culture and practice. Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of best practice within this work to create the conditions that enable it to flourish and achieve individual and organisational outcomes.

Lived Experience Matters was established by Angela Newton in 2019 after spending twenty years working in health and social care, specialising in lived experience leadership, co-production and service user involvement, primarily within mental health. Angela has successfully developed ways of embedding lived experience across organisations, including within operational services and governance, as well as influencing mental health policy and practice. She has led the establishment of a national peer support network, pioneered an award-winning training project, developed accredited training programmes, advised the National Involvement Partnership, served as Chair of the National Survivor User Network and provided pro-bono support to lived experience-led organisations.

Angela works in partnership with individuals and organisations who have significant expertise and experience in lived experience beyond mental health to ensure that training and consultancy services best meet people's needs and requirements.

Angela is also Managing Director at Ten Years' Time, a philanthropy education and advisory firm, that builds care and confidence in wealth holders, trusts and foundations, to resource racial and economic justice.
